MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, JANUARY 30, 2007 --- HK Systems, Inc., North Americas leading automated material handling and supply chain software total solutions provider, today announces the completion of the Denver Newspaper Agency facility expansion. The comprehensive solution includes an HK Systems integrated turnkey two-aisle automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) and Material Tracking and Control (MTC) System.

HKs MTC system manages all Free Standing Inserts (FSIs) pallet movement from receiving through delivery to inserters as well as controlling the loading of delivery trucks. This end-to-end solution provides complete inventory accountability and control of (FSI) for the Agencys newly renovated manufacturing facility.

The project duration was approximately 10 months, reaching the goal of completion prior to the holiday season. The Denver Newspaper Agency realized immediate benefits by utilizing the MTC software system to capture control of their Free Standing Inserts. The MTC System is integrated with BURT Production Planning Systems to provide real-time system directed labor task management and tracking of material flow from receiving through distribution.

Scott Hinke, Vice President, Paper and Publishing Vertical Markets, HK Systems, stated, The close working relationship between the Denver Newspaper Agency and HK Systems allowed the project teams to meet an aggressive schedule and maximize the Agencys return on investment. Hinke continued, The successful implementation of MTC allows the Denver Newspaper Agency to enjoy low risk accountability and control of FSIs with a minimal investment.
