Minneapolis, Jan. 12, 2015 (MindShare Strategies Media Services) – The Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA), which provides education, networking, recognition, and solutions to marketing, communication, and sales leadership executives in transportation and logistics, recently has named John Haggerty of Burris Logistics to its board of directors, as well as the chairman of the TMSA Membership Committee. He will lead this critical committee's strategic initiatives that are focused on membership growth and retention.

Haggerty is vice president of business development for Burris Logistics, a provider of temperature-controlled supply chain solutions through four distinct operating divisions: Burris Custom Retail Distribution, Burris PRW Plus, Burris Transportation, and Honor Foods. Prior to assuming this role in 2011, he oversaw the start-up and initial operation of the company's largest facility in Rocky Hill, Conn. His transportation experience is centered within the food industry and temperature-controlled logistics. Previously he worked for Sysco and Condyne Freezers, and is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.

According to Dino Moler, TMSA's current president and executive vice president of client solutions for LeSaint Logistics, Haggerty will play an instrumental role in the association's growth. In particular, the association is looking to grow its membership in the motor carrier, logistics, rail, air cargo, and maritime segments of the industry.

"TMSA has aggressive membership growth plans for 2015, as we continue to build a solid professional community of marketing, sales, and communications executives in transportation and logistics," said Moler. "John's leadership and expertise in business development, sales, and association member engagement will be invaluable to meeting our goals this year."
