WASHINGTON, D.C., July 28, 2014– Over 50 seminars and workshops for shippers and professionals in the transportation and logistics industry will be the focus of PARCEL Forum 14. The combined event, PARCEL Forum 14, will be held on September 29 to October 1 at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas.

For the first time this year, the event has widened its scope because of the combined resources of PARCEL Forum and the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association (CLDA). CLDA traditionally presents a seminar on last-mile delivery at its annual Fall Forum, which will now be an integral part of the PARCEL Forum.

“By joining forces with PARCEL Forum we can provide information to other members of the shipper and transportation community to help them create a more robust supply chain through the use of local and regional carriers. It’s information they’ve been looking for. In fact, the #1 reason people gave for attending last year’s PARCEL Forum was to meet those who provide last mile delivery solutions. That’s exactly what our members do,” says CLDA President, Kirk Godby. “In addition, our members have been looking for ways to learn about and network with shippers. They’ve seen the research that says that that most shippers want to know how to connect with them. Together, the two groups are offering both shippers and providers what they are looking for.”

PARCEL Forum’s new Customized Last Mile Logistics Track is one of seven. It will provide the latest information for those interested in expanding their supply chain capabilities through same-day local and regional carriers. Other tracks will concentrate on transportation, technology and operations. Participants in PARCEL Forum 14 will have access to all seven tracks throughout the three-day conference as well as all exhibitors, meals and receptions.

The CLDA will provide content for the Customized Last Mile Logistics track which will include presentations on:
• Customized Logistics Role in Today’s Multichannel Transportation Solution
• Beyond the Messenger, Beyond the Courier: Trends in the Customized Logistics and Delivery Industry
• The Fast, Last, Mile: Drones, Data and Distribution
• Clouds, Platforms, and Shipping Marketplaces
• The Benefits of Working with Regional Delivery Companies in Residential Delivery
• Boots on the Ground: How Large and Small Delivery Companies Work Together in Your Final Mile Solution
• The Power of Vision: Using Business Insights and Predictive Analytics to keep your Business Strategy and Methods ahead of the competitive curve advantage
• Technology Solutions Connecting Last Mile Carriers and Shippers

PARCEL Forum has been an influential annual conference and exposition for the parcel shipping, distribution and logistics industry since 2003. It provides the opportunity for those in the industry to learn about industry trends, meet influential members in the business and learn about the latest products and services. The 2013 show attracted over 500 attendees to the conference and exhibition hall which featured over 80 exhibitors showcasing products and services in more than 10,000 square feet.

Early Bird discount rates are still available. For CLDA members, there is a $200 discount if they register by August 29. CLDA members in good standing may register for the conference and receive their discount by going to the CLDA website: theclda.com. Their registration fee for both days will be $695 or $495 for a one-day pass to the conference if they register before Aug. 29.
